The fastest car in the world was sold in the Middle East
1/26/2005 : The Koenigsegg CCR is awarded by the Guinness Book of World Records, as holding the world record for the category ´most powerful production car´. The previous record holder was the Koenigsegg CC8S. Mr. Andreas Petre, General Manager of Quartermile was ´pleased to announce on the 24th of January 2005 that the first production Koenigsegg CCR was delivered to a VIP customer in the UAE. Producing 806 bhp, it is not only the fastest car on the road today with a top speed exceeding 400 km/h, but it is also a stunning supercar, which is 100% handmade over a period of 6 months´.
The Koenigsegg CCR was created by Christian Von Koenigsegg with the support of his dedicated team of designers, engineers and craftsmen. The new Koenigsegg CCR offers the ultimate driving experience, seamlessly uniting aesthetic design and unequalled performance. We are truly honoured and delighted to deliver the CCR in the Middle-East to a distinguished customer in the UAE. We hope and believe this to be the starting point for a long history of proud owners of Koenigsegg cars in the region, stated by Mr. Christian Von Koenigsegg.
The CCR accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3.3 seconds and has a top speed in excess of 400 kilometers per hour, making it the most powerful street legal car in the world. The supercharged 4.7 litre, 8-cylinder engine delivers an astonishing 806 bhp at 6900 rpm and 920Nm (678 ftlb) at 5700 rpm. Both body and chassis are made of pre-impregnated Carbon Fibre Kevlar and lightweight hard-foam sandwich reinforcements of Carbon Fibre, reinforced with Kevlar and aluminum honeycomb, engineered for maximum strength whilst delivering perfect aerodynamics and sleek lines. Each Koenigsegg is tailormade to the personal requirements of its drivers, in order to make it truly unique.
The interior is beautifully hand finished in leather, Carbon Fibre and aluminum, comfortably accommodating driver and passenger. Incredible to drive and beautiful to behold, the Koenigsegg CCR is truly the ultimate Supercar. The standard car costs 458,000 Euro, excluding taxes and shipping costs.
The CCR bears a ghost symbol that was taken from the Swedish air force squadron, whose fighter jets once used the same facilities that Koenigsegg is using now.
The Koenigsegg CCR was sold by Quartermile who are the exclusive distributors in the Middle East. For more information on this supercharged glory, please visit the Quartermile Showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, visit their website quartermile.net or call them on Tel: +971 4 339 4633.
